Keep your company secure and protect your assets with asset tracking from Columbia Communications. If your assets are routinely used across Western Canada--or across the globe—security can be an extremely difficult task. Fortunately, our GPS tracking technology allows you to quickly and easily keep tabs on all of your assets, no matter how large or small they are and no matter where they might be located.

Columbia Communications offers a full range of GPS tracking equipment and software that lets you keep an eye on your assets at all times. Our tracking system can help reduce or eliminate the possibility of equipment theft, since you'll be able to quickly locate and retrieve any asset that’s gone missing. Hundreds of companies are currently employing GPS technology to protect and observe their expensive equipment, no matter where in the world it might be located. Our asset tracking system allows the use of geofencing. Geofences are invisible boundaries that you set yourself, using mapping software. If you have a particular piece of equipment that should always be located in a certain specific area, you can "draw" a geo fence around that area using the GPS tracking software.
One the geofence has been built, you can receive an alert if the equipment has moved outside of the geofence’s boundaries. If someone has stolen a Bobcat that you've equipped with a GPS tracking device, you’ll be alerted by SMS or email as soon as it has crossed the geofence. This information is vital in preventing theft and tracking stolen equipment.
When dealing with stolen equipment and assets, it’s more than just the cost of the items. It’s the time, the general aggravation, and having to deal with the escalating costs of insurance. Columbia Communications is pleased to offer a reliable easy-to-use solution. Rest assured, if your asset is stolen, you’ll see exactly where it’s headed.
Asset Tracking Device
The AXTracker is a battery-operated, self-contained telemetry device designed to communicate via the Globalstar satellite network, capable of providing cost-efficient and reliable asset tracking and fleet management in remote regions.
Comprised of an AeroAstro Simplex Transmitter and set in a compact, rugged enclosure designed to attach to the top of a cargo container, railcar or trailer, the AXTracker sends information in real time at preset intervals to a Globalstar satellite which relays the information to ground stations. The information is then available via the Internet.
The device is delivered complete and ready-to-go with no need for an external antenna or power source, as the AXTracker differentiates itself by offering a multi-year battery life (3-7+ years), as well as easy installation and virtually worldwide coverage. Reliable, one-way simplex communication provides the lowest cost tracking solution available anywhere.
Advantages:
- Lowest hardware and system cost
- Battery life of up to 7+ years
- Enables many geo-fencing, asset tracking, fleet management applications, and alarm/security applications
- Uses Globalstar satellite constellation for real-time tracking from virtually anywhere.
Here’s how our asset-tracking system works:
Install
Your tracking unit is either self-installed or professionally installed, then activated. The asset tracking unit is completely self-contained, water proof, and has a 7 year battery life.
Tracking
We provide you with a user name and password for your web-based interface. Alternatively, we can install DataHost software on your host computer(s) for increased reporting and tracking functionalities. With state-of-the-art on-board equipment, your new system tracks and monitors each of your individual assets. If a theft occurs, you can track the exact location of your asset.
Reporting
Using DataHost software, historical data is automatically saved by the system, and available for you to run numerous reports, such as bread crumb trails, vehicle speeds and stops and starts.
Whatever the size of your fleet, the type of vehicle or asset, or the type of tracking required, Columbia Communications can fit your needs.
